WORK EXPERIENCE

March 2003-Present RandleNET, Inc. Computer Services

Web Design and E-commerce services to the small and medium size business community. Some of my clients include: Hillcrest High School Athletic Department, Latin American Chamber of Commerce, Chicago Network of Black Professional Organizations. Provided consulting and support in conjunction with design of job schedules using Internet software and HTML.  

March 2001-March 2003  Spherion (Kraft Foods)

Worked as a contractor for Spherion at Kraft Foods located in Glenview, IL.  Worked on the third shift having the responsibility of monitoring job application schedules using Omegamon to identify job conflicts and bottlenecks. Utilized Control-M scheduling software to add, delete and determine when jobs would execute in job schedule on Mainframe System. Also utilized Control-M and ZEKE/ZEBB to restart abended (failed) jobs on space disk (sb37) problems. Followed documentation for  rerun/recovery processing to correct job abends, and contacted support for problems when necessary.  Checked Job Control Language (JCL) of job failures for syntax errors before calling programming support. Also monitored AS400 system on the Client-Server platform because it ran a mirror system of what was running on the Mainframe System. Made sure all jobs completed successfully so that CICS regions would be available by 6a.m. for program and client updates.

May 1985-March 1999 W.W. Grainger Inc., Niles, Ill.

Position: Production Control Analysis, CA7 Scheduler

Hired initially as Lead Computer Operator on the third shift mounting tapes with responsibility for monitoring job schedule. Used CA1 tape management system to find in advance what tapes would need to be mounted for some jobs in advance for faster processing.  Used CA1 tape management system to initialize and label tapes to be recognized by the system and find current and past generations of tapes. Used 3800 IBM Laser printer to print out completed jobs. After working 3rd shift for one year, I became the Supervisor of 6 people and responsible for training others until 1992.Worked the first shift the next seven years as CA7 Job Scheduler coordinating with multiple departments in the company to schedule, exam and support mainframe and client/server system changes. I had the responsibility to setup application jobs to run during the day and overnight while maintaining an updated CA7 database. Worked with programmers to move jobs into the mainframe production environment after reviewing and making sure their documentation met company standards.  In the Production Control Area we also had the job of creating, installing and maintaining the Intranet environment for W.W. Grainger, Inc. internal applications and services. My function was to assist developers with the use web creation tools and standards. Verify the integrity of the website for broken links and images on development server before moving to production server.

January 1980-May 1985 Signal/Allied Corp., Desplaines, IL.

Position: Senior Computer Operator

Duties: Monitor daily system activity; mount tapes and use CA1 to initialize tapes. Execute daily batch schedule and insure availability of CICS regions. Print all required forms.

Duties: Maintaining tape library; mounting tapes; printing invoices and forms; monitor system console.
